Erika is a Native Coloradoan, fourth generation, born and raised in the Denver-metro area. She has been an active member in the Durango/Bayfield area since 2008. She completed her Bachelors degree in Anthropology with an emphasis in Archaeology, while also earning a minor in Business Administration from Fort Lewis College in 2010.
Before the start of her Real Estate career, Erika worked as a contract Landman. From this experience, she gained solid research, negotiation and business writing skills. She maintains positive professional relationships with various county courthouses, district courts, title companies and federal agencies. She also gained valuable experience negotiating leases with various mineral owners for the oil and gas companies.
Erika has also worked hands-on in the construction industry. She started out working with her family’s concrete & restoration business and more recently worked with a well respected local builder. In her free time Erika enjoys the outdoors and everything that colorful Colorado has to offer. From hiking with her dog, romping around on her ATV, or riding her Harley Davidson, Erika surely makes the most of our wonderful four corners area.

Erika helped us with a sale this Spring. It happened more quickly than we were mentally prepared for, but with her help, it happened on a timely basis. My husband and I have had the pleasure of working with Erika Simpson over the past 18 months during our relocation to Durango from Flemington, NJ. We made several house hunting trips during that time period and Erika was always accommodating with her schedule and generous with her time to maximize the potential of our visits. She excelled in helping us identify properties with the features and locations we were looking for, and eliminated those not coming close to our criteria. When we found the home we purchased, she was very helpful and efficient in meeting all contract deadlines and negotiating with the sellers’ agents on our behalf. She also made excellent referrals of local professionals that could help us resolve our concerns (e.g. ice-melt systems and excellent painting contractor).
After the closing, Erika even helped us locate our property boundaries based on in ground property markers since the lot was snow covered when we went under contract. This saved us the additional cost of paying for a formal survey that we do not need at present. We would not hesitate to refer Erika to potential buyers or sellers.
