Bert grew up in Atlanta, Georgia. In 1989 he earned a degree in Business and Economics from Berry College in north Georgia. As an outdoor enthusiast, he would travel to the West during college breaks, and fell in love with the mountains and deserts of the Four Corners area. In 1993, he decided to relocate to southwest Colorado, where he has lived for over 20 years.
From 1993 to 2003, Bert lived and worked in the Telluride area, where he built and remodeled luxury homes. In 2003, he became a resident of Durango and has run his own construction business here ever since. Thanks to his experience with additions, remodels, and new construction throughout the local area, Bert has an in depth knowledge of the homes in the Durango area from foundation to finish. From luxury condos and homes near Purgatory to century-old Victorians in downtown to new energy efficient green-built homes and even a Habitat for Humanity duplex, he has seen it all.
For Bert, the most rewarding part of working with clients has been making their dream homes come to life. As a realtor, he brings insight into all aspects of a home’s unique qualities and potential.
Making the most out of life in the Durango area, he enjoys many outdoor pursuits including rock climbing, skiing, mountain biking, elk hunting, fly fishing, and exploring the mountains and desert areas of the southwest.

Bert was the best!!! There was no high pressure sales pitches going on, Bert is honest and hard working, if I could give more than 5 stars, I would. We looked for property for about a year (we were very picky!) and he stayed with us the whole time. He knew what we wanted and was always on the lookout for new things we might be interested in.
