I became a Realtor because I love helping people make their dream of home ownership a reality, especially in Durango. I was fortunate enough to be born and raised here and can’t imagine a better place to own a home. I grew up playing soccer, raising Guide Dogs for the Blind and learning the importance of balancing work and hobbies. While attending Fort Lewis College, I took advantage of their Junior Trimester Abroad program and spent six months studying business in Europe. After earning my Bachelor’s Degree, I spent a summer in Minnesota working for Outward Bound. My time away from Durango was just the experience I needed to realize that this amazing, unique community is where I want to live, work and raise my family. Melanie was extremely helpful in buying my first property. We worked together on and off for about 2 years trying to find a place that fit my needs, location and price in this tough current market. I finally found a place that met all my wants and Melanie helped me get it for a price that was much better than the initial listing. Melanie assisted us with our first home purchase in Durango. Needless to say, she made the entire home buying process easy and quite enjoyable. We did not know where to start when buying a house and what the process was. Melanie explained the process and made us fee confident when going under contract. Not only did she guide us every step of the way, she was able to give us expert tips and negotiation tactics to get our home for our price!
